John Collette joins us as a research associate. Welcome to the Eagen Lab!
The lab had a fun time at the 2022 Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology Halloween Party. The lab took 3rd place in the costume contest and Cate won 1st place in the pie baking competition!
Chris Ponne and Quan Le joins us as a research technicians! Chris is from Kenyon College and Quan joins us from Yale University. Welcome to the Eagen Lab!
Cate Hawkins joins us from the University of Dayton as a research technician! Welcome to the Eagen Lab!
Thrilled to contribute a News & Views article on two new exciting papers in Nature Genetics! Highlights includes how BET proteins, BRD4 in particular, contribute to cohesin-dependent chromatin looping and cohesin-independent genome compartmentalization. Click here for full text.
The lab has completed its move to Houston, is unpacking, and opens its doors at Baylor College of Medicine! We are recruiting for multiple positions at all levels - postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, computational biologist, and research technicians & associates - so please email Kyle if you're interested in joining us!
We are thrilled to announce that the Eagen Lab will be moving to Baylor College of Medicine on November 1, 2021! We will be joining the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology and will also be affiliated with the Center for Precision Environmental Health, the Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Center, and the Center for Cell and Gene Therapy. We are recruiting for multiple positions at all levels, so please contact Kyle if you're interested in joining us!
Kyle is honored to be awarded a generous First-Time, Tenure-Track Faculty Award from the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). This CPRIT grant will allow the lab to pursue high-risk, high-reward projects at the interface of nuclear organization and cancer. Click here for the press release from CPRIT.
Congratulations to Celeste on receiving an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship!
Our review with collaborator Chris French at Brigham and Women's Hospital presenting a mechanistic model for how fusion with NUT supercharges BRD4's function as a transcriptional coactivator, including our recent discovery of a novel nuclear subcompartment, is published in Oncogene! Click here for full text.
Grant Zimmerman joins us from Colorado State University as a research technician! Welcome to the Eagen Lab!
Jingxiao Zhang joins us from UC San Diego as a bioinformatics scientist! Welcome to the Eagen Lab!
Thrilled to share that the first paper from our lab has been published in Molecular Cell! We're excited to report that we've identified a novel nuclear subcompartment formed by chromatin hyperacetylation. Congratulations to Celeste, Haneen, Qi, and Tiffany for their dedication to this project! Click here for full text and also see the press release from Northwestern.
Our review summarizing the most recent genomics methods to study chromosome architecture is published as a Technology of the Month Article in Trends in Biochemical Sciences! Congratulations to Tiffany and Celeste on the beautiful graphics! Click here for full text.
Congratulations to Tiffany on being appointed to the Cellular and Molecular Basis of Disease training grant!
Congratulations to Celeste as she starts graduate school at Northwestern!
Tiffany Ge joins us as a graduate student in the Driskill Graduate Program in Life Sciences! Welcome to the Eagen Lab!
Qi Yu joins us from the NIH as a bioinformatics scientist! Welcome to the Eagen Lab!
The lab has a new video describing our research! Watch it below!
